Kodak EasyShare SV811 8-inch Digital Picture Frame

Kodak EASYSHARE SV811 Digital Picture Frame is perfect for on-the-spot viewing of digital pictures and videos from any digital camera, home PC via USB and all memory cards.
Customer Review: Great Pricing for Great Item. Shipping was fast
Item was received quickly. Item is great to hold pictures and play videos. Great as gift for family and friends
Customer Review: An OK frame for the money
This is an OK, average product. Very basic software, relatively easy to use and I like the fact that it allows a 1gig space on the SD card. The only problem that is very irritating is that you can not randomize the photos. It just loops them in the order they are on the card.

Buying a new or used RC model car is a rewarding and exciting process. Gas or electric? Truck or car? Helicopter or plane? There are many considerations you must address before making these decisions. However, there are 5 top factors that will help you on your decision.

Battery or gas?

The major factors determining your choice here are run time and noise. Gas RC cars, trucks, planes, or helicopters are usually loud, even with a muffler installed. The advantage of gas RC's are that they can run a lot longer with a tank of fuel versus a battery powered RC. The average battery life on a RC vehicle will give you roughly 10 to 25 minutes of run time - at full speed. Some radio control trucks and cars deplete energy faster due to accessories like lights, horns and other gadgets.

Kit vs RTR?

When buying a new RC car or truck or even a plane, there are 2 directions you can take based on your patience, budget, and skill level. If you're the adventurous type and enjoy working on a project from beginning to end then a Kit package is your best option. Kits involve putting together the entire RC car, truck, or plane together from a box of pieces into the final product, which you can be proud of your accomplishment! Kit packages are usually more expensive but are more modifiable. RTR or "Ready to Run" packages are ready to go outside of the box. Charge the battery or fuel up the tank and you'll be enjoying your new RC within minutes, versus hours or even days compared to kits.

Location, Location, Location

Gas powered RC cars and trucks require space and are not ideal for apartment complexes or homes which could have neighbors calling in noise complaints to your local authorities. Radio controlled planes and helicopters need wide open spaces with little obstruction for safe operation. Electric RC's can normally be operated anywhere as they are considerably less noisy than gas RC's. Another consideration is terrain. Is your RC truck or car an off-road buggy or stomper truck or is it a track racer? For example, street RC's perform better and tires last longer on pavement versus asphalt.

Wear and Tear

There are great deals out there on unwanted RC models, however it is important to understand the wear-and-tear of these vehicle before you shell out your hard-earned cash. Start with the heart. That is check the motor, the most important piece to the model. If it's gas, check for oil leakage around the head and base of the motor. Shocks when worn out tend to leak oil as well so look at these with a close eye as well.

What's your Budget?

With prices for used buggies around $75 to fully loaded USED RC Helicopters peaking over $1,500, it's best to have an understanding of your purchasing budget, but also your operational budget as well. After you buy your new or used radio controlled model the spending doesn't stop there as you will have maintenance costs for tires, batteries, fuel, bushings, blades, servos, and more. Depending on how serious you are involved with your RC model will determine how much of an operating budget you will need.

Digital PictureFrames(tm) Vol.1 Medium Resolution: Up To 3600x3600 Pixels for Photoshop CS4

Digital Picture Frames Vol.1 is a collection of over 300 digitally created high quality bitmap graphics representing picture frames, in various proportions, unique designs in the most classical materials and textures like gold, platinum and silver. All frame files are in JPG format (RGB color) with up to 3600x3600 pixels per digital frame. This collection delivers smart solution for the superior "digital framing" of your digital pictures taken with digital camera or other digital creations within the computer environment. You can frame your pictures in your preferred photo editing software, then print off or enjoy them framed in digital format on your computer screen or other media.

Everyone wants to show off his or her photos. Whether they just had a new grandchild or their children just got married, they want you to admire their pictures. Did they just return from an exciting vacation or business trip? They want to show off their trip! The saying has always been "a picture is worth a thousand words" and that is very true today. While someone is telling you about the excitement in their lives, they want to show you the pictures also.

Now there are wonderful ways to show off these photos. Leather envelopes are available in every color and style of leather to house four by six pictures. Whether you like the soft colors of pink or lime, or the traditional red or black leathers, you have your choice. The pictures can constantly be changed in these photo cases and up-dated at will. Newer versions are now available with the magnetic closure. These come in many colors also, and some of them have jeweled findings on the front for added zing. The leather cases can be individually monogrammed with a name or initial. As corporate gifts they can be personalized with a company name or logo. The cases are so versatile for so many occasions; they are always a popular gift. Not just for women, men will also carry these in their pocket or briefcase. The Italian cognac leather or the smooth black leathers are especially popular with the men.

A novel photo holder is the framed case that holds sixteen photos. The pictures fold out accordion style. These can also slide in and out and be changed or updated at will. The frame closes like a change purse and is very flat and sleek looking. It is available in many colors and styles of leather. Men will often carry this slim case in the smooth black leather. It actually resembles the old-fashioned cigarette or cigar case. Monogramming makes this a very special way to showcase your photos. It actually creates quite a presentation! This is also very compact and can become one of your favorite travel accessories.

For those that cannot limit their pictures to "just a few" there are a huge variety of photo albums available. They come in leathers of every color and description. Whether you like the smooth leathers best or the alligator or lizard grains, there's an album for you. These albums also hold four by six photos. Many have pages that fold out doubled, so there are eight photos on a page. In addition to leather, these albums are available in gold or silver tone. Metal albums can be engraved while the leather albums are monogrammed or embossed. These albums are so compact, they can easily fit inside your discount luggage and be taken along on your trips for everyone to admire. You can even fill your album on your travels as you move along from place to place.

It did not take long for the digital photo album to be born. With all of the digital cameras on the market today, they needed an album besides the Internet to show them off. These digital photo albums come with special paper that can be used with your printer to print right from your home computer. The photos come out very professional looking. You can continually add pages to the album as you print more and more of your favorite photos. The albums have a huge array of colors available. They can also be engraved with a name or initials to make them more personal. These albums are lightweight and can be slipped into your discount luggage to take along while you're traveling. No reason any more not to have your favorite pictures along with you to share with others.

Customer Review: Kodak M829 Digital Picture Frame
This digital picture frame is very easy to use even without the manual. Everything you need is on the touch screen. Very easy to use from your digital camera, flash drive or the computer. Also the videos that I tried from my digital camera played very well and where clear. I haven't as yet tried any music. The clock feature that turns the picture frame on and off is a very convient idea but be sure you use the 24 hour cycle, I didn't understand this at first and couldn't get mine timer working right. I did have a little trouble coping picture files to my SD card but I think, I need to put them on my computer first and see if that is what is need to get them on my SD card, not sure about this right now, but I will try it and see if that works. Overall I'm very please with the Kodak digital picture frame and would recommend it to anyone as a gift for the Holidays.
Customer Review: Does not work like it says
I purchased this product two days ago and I am taking it back. I purchased this paticular frame because it goes with my Easyshare camera, and I like the word EASY when it comes to some of this Hi Tech stuff. I have to say it was easy to get my photos on, no problem, but The Video feature didn't work. The videos played very slow and the audio was slow and muted, when I played it for the first time it frightened my daughter, she thougth there was a monster in the frame. I called Kodak, they said to send it back. I don't want to purchase another one and have the same problem again.

The Canon EOS 40D is the new Canon DSLR model that replaces the ever-popular Canon EOS 30D. At first, the EOS 40D looks to be a somewhat restrained upgrade to a popular model; there are several interesting new features that make this a much better camera.

The new Canon EOS 40D comes equiped with a 10-megapixel APS-C format CMOS sensor and a new DIGIC III image processor. The same dust-reduction technology found on the Canon EOS Rebel 400D / XTi, has now found its way onto the 40D. Other notable improvements bring the 40D ever closer to the flagship Canon EOS-1D series. The menu system now uses the same paging system as its more expensive 1D and 1Ds siblings. The 40D now supports both RAW and sRAW image capture formats, along with a change from the prior 12-bit to an impressive 14-bit RAW format. This is all made possible by the use of a single DIGIC III processor, the same processor now being used on the EOS 1D. Improvements in the auto-focus system include cross-type AF points for F5.6 or faster EF and EF-S series lenses. A larger, brighter viewfinder is included in the update, along with the ability to chose from several different focusing screens. Following in the footsteps of the EOS 1D, the 40D features a larger 3-inch LCD which finally has Live-View. The frame rate is also improved to 6.5 fps although this was not always obtainable in performance tests.

One of the first things we noticed was ergonomics of this particular camera. It just feels "good" in the hand. For a prior XTi/XSI user upgrading from the Rebel models, you would gain an imediate improvement to the cramped feeling of the Rebels. The build quality is superior, and Canon has finally seen fit to include weather sealing around the battery compartment doors. Another thing you notice is the sound of the shutter. Much quieter than in previous XXD models. One of the most welcome features is the inclusion of the current ISO setting in the viewfinder and top LCD. It looks like Canon finally listened to those wanting this feature.

The EOS 40D performs remarkably well in performance testing. The 10-megapixel CMOS sensor in combination with the new DIGIC III Image Processor makes a ideal system. In tests along side the Canon EOS 30D and a competitive model such as the Nikon D200, an extension of the cameras dynamic range readily becomes apparent, especially in areas of shadow. RAW images are typically very sharp right out of the camera. Canon cameras gained a reputation for their noise free images, and the 40D does not fail to deliver. Both ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 images were relatively noise free, and certainly were usable for most situations. There is a new noise reduction option available that removes chroma noise.

The EOS 40D is by all accounts, a very nice DSLR and a worthy successor to the EOS 30D.

Customer Review: Poor documentation. Awkward to use.
I was looking for something simple to use. This is not it. It is not intuitively obvious and the documentation is very poor. Also I can rotate a picture and it stays rotated but if I zoom a picture it reverts back to the original. This is my first experience with a digital frame so maybe I'm just a dummy but I don't recommend it. I didn't load their software because I once bought a Kodak camera and the software for that was very intrusive and annoying.
Customer Review: I like it for basic photos
When I bought this for my grandparents, I was looking for something easy. To be frank, I just wanted a flash drive port. All I had to do was plug the frame in, insert the card, and hit go. Poof! Easy as pie for grandma and grandpa. I have no intent to explore all the features that probably made this so expensive, but if you're in the same situation I am, it works. And on a Mac too. :)

Customer Review: An OK frame for the money
This is an OK, average product. Very basic software, relatively easy to use and I like the fact that it allows a 1gig space on the SD card. The only problem that is very irritating is that you can not randomize the photos. It just loops them in the order they are on the card.

As the environment and the need to protect it becomes more main stream, the increase in eco-friendly products has exploded over the past few years. Green alternatives to standard products are becoming more and more common.

Solar Power Chargers

Solar Power technology is rapidly coming down in price and making it affordable to the masses. Many new solar powered devices are now flooding the market as cheaper alternatives than electrical plug-ins.

Countries like Spain, France, Australia and South Africa already use solar technology in many areas including street lighting and water tank heating.

Solar Powered Chargers can be found in many electrical stores and on websites as an alternative to mains powered chargers. There are a number of large reputable brands in the marketplace already who have developed universal portable solar chargers, which have many uses. Imagine the following scenarios:

So why would you buy one?

As an explorer, extreme sportsman or a tribesman you are unlikely to have a means to charge your mobile phone in case you need to call for help. You can be very isolated from civilisation and the emergency services that they provide, so the ability to keep your mobile phone charged as a lifeline is paramount. The solar power charger does exactly this and has helped many people around the world already.

Solar power chargers work particularly well for small devices, as the power needed is significantly less. So solar power can now be used as a direct replacement for rechargeable batteries. The solar panel means you'll never have to rely on the power grid to use your phone.

How does it work?

In an ideal world, you need a good 8 to 10 hours of direct sunlight to fully charge the battery of your solar powered charger which you can then use it to charge your mobile phone each night. If you don't have direct sunlight, solar powered chargers will charge in cloudy conditions, but if it's cloudy expect it to take 24 to 48 hours for a charge. The internal battery can hold a charge for up to one year, so you could charge it once, throw it in a drawer and use it in an emergency to charge your phone which is more often than not when your mobile phone hasn't been charged and you need it most!

Generic solar powered chargers comes with a cable that uses a variety of tips for Nokia phones, Motorola and USB powered devices such as iPods and iPhones.

The biggest positive of a solar powered charger is cheap charging, you benefit from unlimited recharging of a variety of electronic devices for free. Solar powered chargers are also a cheap form of insurance against an emergency whilst doubling as a handy device anytime you might need some extra power.

In a era of wi-fi hotspots and hot desking a solar powered charger makes sense.

Easy as pie for grandma and grandpa. I have no intent to explore all the features that probably made this so expensive, but if you're in the same situation I am, it works. And on a Mac too. :)

Professional photographers follow certain techniques to take such stunning photographs, portrait and pictures in which the subject is clear and focused whereas the background is slightly blurred.

Here are a few steps for taking those picture perfect shots.

Technical
Firstly, it would be preferable if the camera you are using has a large plate for imaging. Also the lens being used should be fast. This means the lens should have an aperture larger than f2.8.

A camera with a large aperture produces pictures or images that have a shallow depth of field. This means that all areas in front and behind the subject are blurred while the subject alone is concentrated upon.

As far as possible, the subject's head and shoulder should fit the frame. Also if you are taking a picture of a person, you should focus on the eyes.

Technique
Practice makes perfect. No job is done perfectly only once. Patience and perseverance is required to make something good happen. While taking pictures, use a lens with a wide opening and that has a stop on one or two to take a series of photographs.

Focus or areas like the nose, hair and ears using different apertures for each. You can choose different options once the pictures are out.

To create a shallow depth of field, you must use a longer lens such as a telephoto, and set it on maximum zoom. Then stand as close as you possibly can to the subject.

For subjects in motion, for instance a car, the camera needs to be moved just as the subject is. This means that the subject needs to be followed. The ISO400 films are best for taking shots like these. Along with this, the camera needs to be set to the ISO mode to ensure that it works.

While taking subjects in motion, you need to ensure that the camera's body is always steady. Focus on the subject the way you see it through the lens. This technique ensures that the subject appears crisp and clear while the background appears to be a blur. This emphasizes the subject's movement making the picture come to life.

Photo effects
There is another way of creating the same shot without having to go through all the technicalities that is required for taking such a picture. Software has made this magically possible. The software photoshop has a function called blur that blurs the background of the picture in such a manner that it looks like a professional photographer has taken the picture. Still the software blur tends to look artificial when compared to a blur that is taken through a camera that is authentic and truly beautiful.

Unfortunately or fortunately, the software technology has advanced to give us the CS2 Photoshop version that can enable anybody to blur a picture. This option considers the depth of field of the picture. This means the software is able to blur the pixels that appear further away more and blur the pixels that appear nearer less. This function can be adjusted such that you can achieve just about any result that you desire.

Depth of field, as a concept, is really easy if you are able to understand it. If you are serious about photography, with enough practice you can become the master of this technique. All you need is perseverance, patience and enough determination to learn, both from experience and from mistakes, so that you can move towards becoming a better photographer and creating beautiful shots.

The anticipation of buying some digital camera accessories is just about as exciting as buying the camera itself. With so many trimmings to go with it, the digital camera will turn a simple hobby into a pleasurable profession with just a snap of the finger. When we begin looking at the digital camera of choice, we need to look at some of the accessories that will go with it. Some accessories will go with most cameras but some may be brand specific, so stay with the brand of the camera if you can when looking at their extras.

Accessories such as rechargeable batteries, a battery charger/AC adapter, memory card, soft camera case, camera bag, lens cleaning kit, tripod, external flash and filters, will all make the digital camera run more smoothly and efficiently. They add value to your photo shoots, and also increase the life of your camera. The worst thing in the world is to be out on a shoot, and have the battery go out or the memory card malfunctions.

There are some accessories more important than others, and some simply sell better than others. Right now, at the top of the accessory list for digital cameras are: (1) camera bags - for LCD scratches, general marks on the camera, with the Lowepor Micro Trekker 200 and the Lowepro Mini Trekker Classic as the two top selling bags; (2) memory cards - it is best to have one large card or a couple medium card.

(3) camera tripod - only purchase one of you are serious about photography; (4) photo printer - some of the best ones are the Canon i70/i80/i90 Portable Photo Printer, HP Photosmart 375 Photo Inkjet Printer, Epson PictureMate Personal Photo Lab Inkjet Printer, Kodak EasyShare Dock Plus Dye Sublimation Printer, and the Sony DFF-FP50 Digital Photo Inkjet Printer; and (5) Portable Storage Device and Card Reader - holds 7 memory card types and stores up to 100 GB of images; (6) photo editing software - always upgrade to a more advanced program; and (7) Digital Picture Frame - displays slide shows and receives photos across country.

One of the most important accessories, which really is a necessity, should be a lens cleaning kit to go along with the digital camera. You should never clean any optics of your camera using your shirt, fingers, water or breath. The kit, which costs a few dollars, includes a small blower brush, a soft cloth, a small plastic bottle containing the lens cleaning solution, and a number of lens cleaning tissues. Little specks of dirt on a photograph or smudges will cost a person time when they editing them out.

Digital cameras and their built-in flashes have a limited range of approximately ten feet, which is considered normal for most point-and-shoot cameras. This distance can be increased 18 feet on up to 40 feet, depending on the flash used as a slave flash, which is ANY photographic flash that has a sensor built into the unit. Many of these are sensitive enough to be activated 100 feet away in full sunlight, but are not restricted to outdoor use only.

Some of the new digital cameras that have "red eye reduction", also called pre-flash, require a special digital flash unit to act as a slave unit. But the older digital cameras without pre-flash will still work with slave units. But the first thing was to purchase a camera with at least 2X on up to an 8X optical zoom - not digital. Optical is the highest quality digital camera available, as the digital will take blurry photographs.

Another very important accessory is a tripod, for those of us who have the shakes and an unsteady hand. The tripod is needed to prevent camera shake, especially when the shutter speed drops below 1/60 second at a wide angle shot. Some digital cameras are equipped with an LCD monitor, which flashes a blinking light as a warning when the shutter speed is likely to cause a camera shake.

Also, a tripod is necessary when the photographer is too close to the object in macro photography. There are mini tripods and the regular tripods, with the minis pretty popular anymore as they are lightweight and can be stored easily.

Almost all digital cameras come with a small starter memory card, 16 or 32 MB. However, a professional photographer or a shutterbug may need a larger memory card - the more pictures on it, the faster it will disappear in room. A larger card will have more room so more pictures can be taken; we won't need to rush to our computer to transfer them off the memory card before we run out of room. We also have the option of using several small memory cards, sorted out per subject or job.

And last but not least, a battery charger or an AC adapter is very much needed, unless we keep a case of batteries on us at all times. But the battery charger is the number one choice as it allows us to continue charging spare batteries without interrupting our shooting. In the case of an AC adapter, the shooting will come to a halt while the battery is being charged.

It is also advisable to buy a spare set of rechargeable batteries as it saves us the embarrassment of getting stuck with drained out batteries during the middle of a photo shoot. Rechargeable batteries last longer, and will save us the bother of hunting for battery stores in desolate places. The price may be high at first, but it is better than losing a photography job or driving all the way to a camera store to repurchase what was forgotten in the first place!

Every country has its own flag as a symbol of the nation and the common interest of the population. So our flag is something we share and respect. We need good pictures of flags in many circumstances. For printing, for celebrations, for ...

Learn to take better pictures of flags by following these simple photo tips.

1. Show the flag in the environment
A flag isn't just a sort of clip-art. The flag is living because of its surroundings. If we want to take impressive flag pictures we need to catch the flag in the environment. It can just be the blowing wind, or the blue sky with a few clouds behind. Or the flag shown as a central point for a gathering of people or enjoyment.

2. Let the wind blow
A flag hanging lazy down from a flagpole isn't a real flag. The flag becomes alive when the wind is blowing. Take a lot of pictures of the flag in the wind with your digital camera. Each extra picture doesn't cost you a cent, and we need to be quite patient to catch the right moment when the flag is at its most beautiful position, also related to the light.

3. Get the light behind the flag
If you can take the flag pictures with the light behind the flag so the light is shining through the cloth of the flag, the flag will look much more interesting in a kind of transparent mood.

4. Avoid distracting elements reaching into the frame of the flag
The flag in itself should stand out clearly from the background and from other elements in the picture. At least that will give the most impressive flag picture in most situations.

5. Let people show their appreciation of the flag in the picture
When possible compose flag pictures in such a way that people are interacting with or showing their appreciation of the flag.

6. Decide if the flag is the main object or an additional object in the picture
The symbolic nature of national flags means that an addition of a flag to any picture can add much more than just the small area of the picture it is occupying. Lets say you are taking pictures of a group of people in another country or a building. And just by including a small flag will signal where in the world you are taking the picture.

7. Make use of the colours' of the flag
The best result for pictures isn't when you include a lot of colors in the same picture. It is much better to mach colours' to each other. If you can add an element of the same color of parts of the flag it will enhance the flag and create a more coherent picture.

8. Many similar flags can be very impressive.
Pictures with several or many flags of the same kind can be very impressive on pictures. Especially, if you follow some of the photo tips above.

Every time you go to a new country or meet a new flag you will benefit from taking an impressive picture of the flag. Exactly because of the symbolic nature of flags such pictures will serve you in many applications, like in photo shows, in PowerPoint presentation, and may be in celebrations.

In my country small country Denmark in Scandinavia we use our old red flag with the white cross not only as a national symbol, but in fact much more as a symbol of celebration and good mood and atmosphere. With every birthday - whatever it is children or up to the oldest people - the red and white flag will be raised and used to celebrate the person with the birthday. Are friends receiving their friends arriving in the airport they will bring small Danish flags to celebrate the arrival.
